AMP Medical Transcription (Online)

Medical Transcription is a desired field for many people trying to work at home.  Strong typing, computer, and English grammar skills are essential.  Medical terminology, formats, rules and regulations, jobs, calculation of pay, confidentiality, and tricks of the trade, all equipment, reference books, and course books are provided with the course fee.  Classes are online for 16 weeks, with a completion of 16 weeks to 6-months options. 

This is a State Certified program, and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon graduation, and help with resumes and how to obtain a job are covered in this program.  Program includes Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and transcription.  The fee includes everything for the course and the field.  Required: typing skills above 60 WPM, Microsoft Word proficient. Payment plans are available.  Online anytime, self-paced.

A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.  In just 40 hours, Woodfords' remote training program can get you certified and on your way to a life-changing profession. 

You must be a Maine resident and at least 18 years old, with a high school diploma (or equivalent) to become certified.  We are excited to connect the Ellsworth area with this wonderful ONLINE training and certificate program.  This is a hybrid course (a combination of online and in-person) with ongoing enrollment.

Early Childhood Education Micro-Credential

Passionate about supporting young children and eager to make a difference?  Would you like to confidently start a job with a local early childhood center?  Ellsworth Adult & Community Education is working with partners to develop an Early Childhoood Education Micro-Credential.  This certificate offers the skills, knowledge and experience to start a job in a center!  

Our micro-credential is a standards-based credential, so you demonstrate skills and knowledge in a variety of ways, including past learning and experience.  You earn three badges that include building a work readiness and communications foundation, early childhood education certificates, and hands-on experience in the classroom. 

Badge 1 Communications for the Early Childhood Professional, Work Readiness for the Early Childhood Professional, Pediatric First Aid & CPR, Mandated Reporting and more to prepare for Badge 2.  Most of Badge 1 is achieved in-person in classes scheduled at Ellsworth Adult & Community Education. 

Badge 2 You’ll earn certificate options documenting your knowledge and skills to work as part of a team to provide professional, safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate programs in partnership with families.  All of these certificates are available self-paced online.  

Badge 3 offers hands-on experience demonstrating that you can apply the knowledge and skills in a local facility.  These sessions are set up upon completion of Badge 2.

Northstar Digital Literacy Certification Program

If you want a chance to build your digital literacy skills, this program is for you. It starts with an online assessment, recommendations for instruction, and then finally certificates. She is committed to helping adults discover their strengths, build their confidence, and realize they can accomplish their goals. In her free time, she loves to travel and explore the outdoors.
