AMP Dental Assistant (Feb)
with Academy of Medical Professions

Dental Assisting Certification is one of the most high-demand careers. This program is designed to teach all aspects of dental assisting and provide you with the skills you need to work in this field and to pass a national certificate exam. This program is taught by a dentist and includes an opportunity for internships. The price of the course includes all books, exam preparation materials and fees for the DANB RHS® certificate program. Upon passing the DANB RHS®, you will receive a certificate of knowledge based on competency for that component from DANB. Payment plans are available. The classroom hours are live online with one in-person lab day in a dental office based on student's location and availability. This course is also available asynchronosly online and you can start anytime.

Mobility & Stability for 50+: Building Strength & Independence (Apr)
with Crossfit Breakwater

Overall health and independence are important for everyone of all ages. In this class, we focus on three main components:
- Increasing your MOBILITY;
- Improving your STABILITY; and
- Gaining STRENGTH,
all while learning functional movements that enrich everyday life. Be challenged and have fun in a peer-supported environment with an excellent, seasoned coaching staff.
Everything you need to know for each class is taught, discussed and practiced under the watchful eye of your coaches. Join your peers at CrossFit Breakwater! This is an in-person class held at CrossFit Breakwater.

BLS Healthcare Provider (April)
with Sonia Groesbeck

This professional certification course certifies the student in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and choking protocols for all age groups, as well as other advanced skills including ventilation with an advanced airway or bag mask device. This is an in-person class.
CNA Plus Information Session (In-person)
with Annie Sargent

Ellsworth Adult & Community Education is working with several healthcare facilities in Hancock County to offer a FREE Certified Nursing Assistant Plus course. Classroom sessions are online, the lab sessions are in-person at Hancock County Technical Center in Ellsworth, and clinical sessions are at partner healthcare facilities. As a result of feedback from employers, we are complementing our CNA program with two additional standards-based work readiness and digital literacy courses. Upon successful completion of this course, passing the State CNA exam and successful acceptance to the State Registry, students will be state-certified CNAs. This course is available to adults interested in working at one of the healthcare organizations in Hancock County. The admissions process is fairly extensive.
We are currently working on the 2023-2024 schedule for the CNA Program. It will either start in the late September or early February, or both should sufficient funds be available. draft schedules will be available at the information session.
During this information session Annie Sargent, Career Advisor, will provide materials to review, CNA Application Packet program details, and support in navigating the admissions process, as well as share other CNA and health occupations options.
