Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables-Basics

What can you do with Excel Pivot Tables? A better question is what can’t you do? The Pivot Table function is probably one of the more powerful and useful tools in Excel. You will learn how to prepare your data for use in a pivot table, create your first pivot table, customize various structures of your table, design your table, and create calculated fields and items. This is live online class using ZOOM.

During these three sessions, you will learn basic accounting principles and how to apply them to setting-up QuickBooks Online for a small business or organization. For this workshop, you may sign-up for a year of QB Online at no cost by using a school email account. This will be arranged by the program. This is live online class using ZOOM.

Google Docs: Basics

Google docs is an invaluable and easy to use online tool similar to Microsoft Word. It's free, accessible from all devices and is super easy to share. Learn how to create documents, master useful formatting functions, share documents with others, and more as time permits. This workshop will introduce you to these features and share resources for futher learning. This is an in-person class.

Google Sheets are spreadsheet files. Spreadsheets were traditionally ledgers for financial recordkeeping, but now are used for organizing, tracking and retrieving all kinds of information. Google Sheets is a user friendly, online tool similar to Microsoft Excel. It’s free, accessible from all devices and is easy to share. Learn how to create a basic spreadsheet, format and reorganize information, and use simple formulas and filters. This is an in-person class.

Ellsworth Adult Education has been working with area early childhood employers and the University of Maine System this summer and fall to develop a competency-based microcredential certificate program using industry recognized standards.
As this is a standards-based program, you demonstrate skills and knowledge in a variety of ways, including past learning.
Badge 1 Communications for the Early Childhood Professional, Work Readiness for the Early Childhood Professional, Pediatric First Aid & CPR, Mandated Reporting and additional to prepare for Badge 2. Most of Badge 1 is achieved in-person in classes scheduled at Ellsworth Adult & Community Education.
Badge 2 You’ll earn certificate options documenting your knowledge and skills to work as part of a team to provide professional, safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate programs in partnership with families. All of these certificates are available self-paced online.
Badge 3 offers hands-on experience demonstrating that you can apply the knowledge and skills in a local facility. These sessions are set up upon completion of Badge 2.

This course is designed to help adults improve their reading, writing, proofreading, editing, and revising to prepare for standardized exams. We cover the basics of grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph development, and will eventually write effective essays with clear ideas, smooth transitions, and logical support. We will practice planning, research, prewriting, and organizing our writing. Learning to proofread for punctuation, usage, content, and support will be emphasized. This class is an in-person class with ongoing enrollment.

If you have ever wanted to earn a certification to document your technology skills and knowledge, there is no time like the present. IC3 (Internet Core Competency Certification) Digital Literacy Certification is a global benchmark for basic computer literacy, including operating systems, hardware, software, and networks. The IC3 certifications tests concepts and skills that apply to almost any school or career pathway. This course prepares you for the IC3 Certification exam using LearnKey curriculum and the support of a veteran adult education instructor. The class will be designed based on student needs.
