Holistic Health & Wellness (Jan)

Learn the importance of movement, stress reduction, self-care (including sleep strategies, rest, self-love, self-forgiveness) healthy nutrition and mindfulness and healthy relationships to improve your overall well-being. This course is a lecture format with Q & A. Journal prompts, handouts, text, phone call or email check-ins and a Zoom meeting to review the course at the end. This is a live online class using ZOOM.

Applying for Federal jobs is different than applying for jobs in almost any other business or industry. Join representatives from Acadia National Park for a 2-hour workshop to learn about employment opportunities at Acadia, how to write a Federal Resume, and the application process.
Acadia National Park hires more than 100 seasonal and many permanent employees each year into jobs that have great potential for developing into exciting careers. Careers in maintenance, fee collection, education, interpretation, resource management, law enforcement, and more are available. This is a hybrid course. Yoga: Hatha Yoga (Jan)

This 60-minute Yoga class will provide sequences that calms the nervous system along with stretching/warming the muscles and preparing the mind to rest. Breathing techniques, short meditation and positive affirmations will end the practice. This is a live online class using ZOOM.

Yoga: Chair Yoga-A Morning Practice off the Mat (Jan)

This morning class, practiced in a chair, offers mind and body benefits without having to get up and off the floor or even changing into yoga clothes! Enjoy a “pick me up” at home or at your office by using structural techniques to improve your range of motion, relax tight or overused muscles, and release tension from the mind. How to Play Piano by Ear
with Craig Coffman

Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the “Instant Piano” class and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Expand your musical horizons, free yourself from sheet-music dependence, and be the life of the party! Prior experience with chords recommended. Fee includes the online book, online follow-up lessons, a recording of the class and an optional monthly question and answer session. This is a live online class using ZOOM.
Craig Coffman has successfully taught Instant Piano and Instant Guitar classes to over 30,000 students in 15 states and overseas. He is also a private piano instructor and operates a piano studio in Arizona.
Certified Nursing Assistant PLUS
with Nance Eaton

Ellsworth Adult & Community Education is working with MDI Hospital and Birch Bay Village to offer a Certified Nursing Assistant PLUS course which meets the newly reduced state requirement of 130 hours (70 hours of classroom, 20 hours of lab and 40 hours of clinical experience).
Additionally, CNA PLUS offers BLS, CPR & First Aid, Digital Literacy Certification and a WorkReady credential. Interested students can begin on the Northstar Digital Literacy and WorkReady Credentials anytime. Getting a head start will lesson your load during the class sessions.
Classroom sessions are online, the lab sessions are in-person at Hancock County Technical Center in Ellsworth, and the clinical sessions are on MDI. As a result of feedback from employers, we are complementing our CNA program with two additional standards-based work readiness and digital literacy courses. Upon successful completion of this course, passing the State CNA exam and successful acceptance to the State Registry, students will be state-certified CNAs.

- A CNA PLUS Orientation session is required. Please read through the attached materials before attending the orientation session to make sure all your questions are answered!
