Basic Music Theory/Ear Training (Part 1)

with Daniel Conte

Revised Schedule  What are scales, intervals and chords? How can understanding them help us as we write, perform or just listen to music? Daniel Conte, experienced composer, arranger and performer, will guide you gently through the basics of how music is structured, and what to listen and/or look for to gain a better understanding of what you are writing, performing or hearing. Makeup class (if needed) 11/01/18.

Daniel Conte has been involved in music since learning to play the tuba in 4th grade. He is a singer, composer, pianist, and conductor. He believes most people have a lot more ability than they think and enjoys helping them realize it.

Prerequisite: Learn to Read Music! (Part 1) or permission of the instructor.

Part 2 will be offered in our Winter/Spring session.
