New to the computer? A bit scared to get started? If the answer is yes, this is the class for you. No prior skill required. Learn key computer vocabulary, as well as how to find your way around the computer, search the internet efficiently and effectively, send and receive emails, and add attachments. Registration is limited to seven, so the student/teacher ratio is low. You will leave this class confident in your ability to learn new computer skills. Creative Writing

Do you enjoy expressing images and feelings in poetry? Are you intrigued by creating characters? Do you have an idea for story that you’d like to start getting down in words? Or would you like to start keeping a journal? Get together this winter with others to write and talk about writing. Veteran writing instructor Carol Trimble will organize the course around the interests and needs of the participants. Bring a notebook and favorite writing implement or device and a willingness to explore your voice through writing. Carol Trimble has taught classes and workshops for all ages from elementary school students through adults. For more than 15 years, she taught writing and humanities courses for the University of Maine Augusta.

 

Crossbow Hunter Safety - Maine Dept. of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife

This course covers personal safety, survival/first aid, hunter responsibility, ethics, map and compass, and landowner rights. Passage of a final exam is required. You must attend the full class in order to receive your certificate. This class is required to be eligible to purchase a crossbow hunting permit. Ernie has been teaching CPR/First Aid courses for more than 20 years as well as outdoor recreation safety courses for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Prerequisite: Archer Hunter Safety. This class meets immediately after the Archer Hunter Safety class on 03/24/18. Maine Inland Fisheries & Wildlife courses are available to students 10 years of age and older; school age students must be accompanied by an adult.

Want to learn a partner dance but don't know where to start? If you've never taken a dance class, this class is perfect for the beginner. West Coast Swing is a versatile, fun-filled partner dance that is compatible with a wide variety of music, which makes it a good first dance to learn. WCS allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together. Your instructor will offer a pace at the level of the class and provide support and encouragement as you learn how to have fun with your partner and the dance. Come alone or with a partner - singles are welcome! Those who have taken beginner before are encouraged to freshen up their skills and the instructor will modify basics to add more challenge for those who have a working knowledge of the dance. Take your dancing to a new level! This class is intended for students who already have a basic knowledge of West Coast Swing and would like to progress further. Each week we’ll cover new step patterns and styling tips for both leaders and followers that will highlight musicality and connection in the dance. We will explore improvisation and creativity within a variety of musical styles (blues, R&B, pop, soul, funk, rock). The emphasis will be on having more fun with your dancing! Come alone or with a partner - singles are welcome! Digital Photography: Digital Photo Editing
