Human Biology with Lab

This course presents the major human biological principles including biochemistry, cell biology, DNA and genetics, human anatomy and physiology including directional terms and orientation, and more. Students will experience the process of science by conducting virtual dissections, microscopy, researching, and presenting. Upon successful completion, students will earn one high school credit (a prerequisite for acceptance to several local college programs). No class 10/14, 11/11, 11/25, 12/23, 12/30 or 01/20/20. Makeup class (if needed) 02/03/20.

Math for College and Work If you don't use it, you lose it! This is most notably true about math. Most of us read and write almost every day, but how many of us find the common denominator of fractions regularly enough to make it stick in our brains? Work with our math teacher to change your perspective on math, eliminate your negative feelings and anxiety, and receive direct and targeted instruction. You'll use technology to practice the skills you learn directly from your teacher and other learning resources. Vanessa Richards has 19 years of experience teaching all levels of math, and has been dubbed the “Math Therapist.” Upon successful completion of this course, students will earn one high school diploma credit (if needed).

This course is perfect for adults who need to prepare for success on college entrance or licensure examinations, including the Accuplacer, HESI and PRAXIS, and/or earn a high school credit or prepare for the HiSET. The course is designed to prepare you to succeed in college-level mathematics in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. You will master concepts and computations in whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios and proportions, negative and positive numbers, powers and roots, statistics, and more! Emphasis will also be on developing self-study skills and habits to be successful in mathematics and other subjects, becoming familiar with free online resources, and applying mathematics in real life situations. No class 11/28/19 or 12/26/19. Makeup class, if needed, 01/30/20.
