Computers: Microsoft Office 2013 Excel
with Arnett Campbell
Excel is a fantastic tool that can be used for anything from creating a shopping list to creating a budget. This course will cover navigating the ribbon and tool bar; entering, editing, copying, and pasting data; formatting the spreadsheet’s cells and numbers, and adding and deleting columns and rows. Next, learn how to freeze and lock columns and rows; create equations to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers, and create a mock budget. More advanced topics including integration with Word will be geared toward students’ needs. Makeup class (if needed) 12/15/17.
Prerequisite: Microsoft Word or equivalent knowledge (see description for MS Word).

Customer Service: Making the Best First Impression
with Business Leaders
Offering consistent, friendly customer service is a key to repeat business and customer loyalty. A big step to improving customer service is getting your employees to look at their jobs through the eyes of their customer.
The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce is offering an opportunity for businesses and individuals to enhance their customer service. Trainers will be area employers, with a focus on quality customer service. Each session will have handouts that can be added to the student’s personal growth file or shared with others in their workplace. Office Skills Program

These days most jobs require strong office skills-technology (computers, phones, projectors, scanners, copiers), business writing and math, customer service skills and transferrable skills like reliability and initiative.
Ellsworth Adult Education is working with local businesses and organizations to offer a hands-on training program to prepare you to work for local employers. From the beginning of the program, you’ll meet with local employers. Informational and mock interviews, special projects and job shadows are all ways you might be involved. You will build your skills, knowledge and confidence; earn a certificate valued by employers, and gain experience in a variety of employment settings.
Our standards-based program allows you to demonstrate mastery. Everyone comes to us with different strengths, so you will spend as much time as you need on the following areas: job readiness, customer service, office communications, business math, digital literacy, Microsoft Suite, Google Productivity Applications, internet research and keyboarding.
