Everyone organizes their desks in a different way at home and at work and the same is true about organizing files and folders on a computer.  Learn tips on how to save and organize files and folders on your computer and to retrieve information from your computer when you need it.  Basic computer skills, including hardware and software basics, and email are required for this workshop.  Laptops will be provided.  It may be possible to use your own laptop.  Makeup class (if needed) 04/03/20.

iPhone & iPad for the Novice

Did you just receive an iPhone or iPad? Come and learn the basics on how to send/receive iMessages, email, set up your phone contact list, get voicemail, download apps, take a picture, search the internet, and more.  Bring your device fully charged and have your Apple ID and password available.  If you have not used your device at all, it can be set up at the first meeting.  Makeup class (if needed) 04/10/20.

Google Sheets - Basic

Sheets are spreadsheet files.  Spreadsheets were traditionally ledgers for financial recordkeeping but now spreadsheets are used for organizing, tracking and retrieving all kinds of information.  Google sheets is a user friendly on-line tool similar to Microsoft Excel. It’s free and accessible from all devices and easy to share.  Learn how to: 1) create basic spreadsheet and 2) use formulas, filters, and more as time permits. Basic computer skills, including hardware and software basics, surfing the internet, a Gmail account and exposure to Google drive are    required for this workshop.  Makeup class (if needed) 04/06/20 


Introduction to Surfing the Internet

The internet is an invaluable resource that has many applications in everyday life.  You can check the weather, find a restaurant, do research for school, just to name a few examples.  This workshop will give you some tips about searching the internet and show you how to navigate on the web and save information to review later using the bookmark feature.  Skills taught in Hardware and Software Basics required for this workshop.  Laptops will be provided.  It may be possible to use your own laptop.  Makeup class (if needed) 04/03/20.

What About the Photos?

Now that photos are digital no one prints them out anymore.  Learn the very basics about how to transfer photos from your camera or phone to your computer, how to access them on your computer and send them to friends and family and/or  to be printed.  All computers and devices are different, so this workshop will share the general processes.  Basic computer skills, including hardware and software basics as well as email are required for this workshop. At the first session you’ll learn what hardware, if any, you should bring to the second session if you want to do some hands on work (computer, camera or other photo device, connecting cords, and thumb drive are all helpful).  No class 04/24/20; makeup class (if needed) 05/08/20.
