Students will visit six area employers in the region to see what it’s like to work there. You’ll tour the facility and attend a Q & A session with an administrator and supervisor. You will also hear from people working in a variety of positions. When you leave, you’ll have a good idea of what it might be like to work in the field and what you need to do to prepare. In addition, at least three employer panels will be organized and held at our University College site.

Automotive, construction, healthcare, hospitality and finance are all potential areas of focus. The field trips will be organized based on projections of high wage, high demand jobs and student interest. Details of this project are still developing.

During the 2017-18 school year, Ellsworth Adult Education has received a donation from Dollar General Literacy Foundation to pilot this workshop, which is geared toward assisting learners in identifying career paths early in their work with us.
